According to a mid-Tuesday report on MSNBC, Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee are in agreement with the Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) – there was no “collusion’ between President Donald J. Trump and the Russians during the 2016 election.
“After two years and interviewing more than 200 witnesses, the Senate Intelligence Committee has not uncovered any direct evidence of between the Trump campaign and Russia,” said reporter Ken Dilanian on the ultra-left news network. “The according to sources on both the Republican and the Democratic side of the aisle.”
Of course, Republicans have been saying this for the entirety of the two years that Democrats have been wasting endless resources and throwing Trump allies in jail for process crimes related to the bogus investigation. The “collusion” conspiracy doesn’t even make sense on its face.
But for two years, leftist news (read: activism) websites and cable news sites alike have run with the narrative, constantly tripping over themselves in the process. At least two “bombshell” stories about Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., have been embarrassingly corrected by the likes of CNN and NPR.
The Cable News Network accused Trump Jr. of having access to emailes released by WikiLeaks that were damning to the Clinton campaign before they were made public, but they got the date on which he received the emails wrong. Turns out he had them a day after they were released publicly – like the rest of the public. (Note: even that would not have proven some sort of “collusion,” but the networks were desperate to get Trump). NPR, funded by your hard-earned tax dollars, would later report that Trump Jr. lied to a Senate panel about plans to build a Trump Tower Moscow. Turns out, Trump Jr. was discussing a separate real estate deal with the Senate. Oops! (Note: this would not have proved “collusion” either).
Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III is set to release a less-than-damaging report on the entire affair, at which point we will mercilessly crush the leftist press for spreading the idea that there was any wrongdoing on the part of Trump, which stirred up hatred, animosity, and calls for his impeachment.
